The HPE 822788-001 is bundled with a HPE SmartCarrier tray which uses LED icons to display the current status of the solid state drive. HPE SmartCarrier trays have a green spinning activity ring that indicates that the storage device is currently writing data. SmartCarrier drive trays also feature a “do not remove” icon positioned that lights up to warn users when the removal of the drive would cause data loss.
