HPE 12 watt, 7.2V, battery backed write cache enhanced megacell smart storage battery for select Gen9 and Gen10 HPE ProLiant BladeSystem servers. The HPE 12W smart storage battery is a lithium-ion, low-halogen centralized backup source and is required to backup the write cache content onto flash memory on the HPE Smart Array Gen9 and Gen10 performance RAID (P-class) controllers in case of an unplanned server power loss.

Only one HPE 12W smart storage battery is required per server as these batteries can support multiple devices (up to 3 devices).
