HPE Gen9 and above server hard drives include a HPE SmartCarrier tray which uses LED icons to display the current status of the hard drive. HPE SmartCarrier drive trays have a green spinning activity ring that lights up when the server is currently writing data to the hard drive. HPE SmartCarrier trays have a "do not remove" icon which lights up to warn users when removing the drive will result in data loss.

HPE 300 Gigabyte, 2.5 inch, Hot-Plug, SAS hard drive with a data transfer rate of 1.2 Gigabytes per second and includes a SmartCarrier tray.
