HP Enterprise server hard drives come with a HPE SmartCarrier tray which uses LED icons to display the current status of the hard drive. HPE SmartCarrier drive trays have a green spinning activity ring that lights up when the server is currently writing data to the drive. HPE SmartCarrier trays feature a "do not remove" icon which lights up to warn users that removing the drive from the server will result in data loss. HPE smartCarrier trays are for Gen10 HPE ProLiant servers and are backwards compatible with Gen9 ProLiant servers.
